The Best Daily Deal Sites

There are many sites considered the best deal sites. What this basically means is that these sites are the most visited ones. The top sites average more than a hundred thousand visits a day. This is because these sites do not just offer any deal but deals that are attractive to their visitors. They have a few things in common that have contributed to making them the best sites.
First is their deals can be availed of locally. A great deal will not be all that great if you have to go out of your way in order to take advantage of it. Some deals may not be as good but because they are easily accessible locally then what can be saved in terms of time and travel money may compensate. At most of these sites the first page you view is one that asks where you reside. This then triggers what deals are shown to you afterwards.
Another common factor is the variety of deals being offered. They are more like general sites where a wide range of coupons can be chosen from. This way it is very likely that there is something that a visitor to the site will like, compel them to register, and return for similar deals. Sites that specifically target certain deals like restaurant deals and such will probably have better deals despite their lower ranking in terms of visits.
A good number of these sites are either supported by or owned by big networks like Amazon, Google and Facebook. They may also actually have partnerships with national chains as a form of advertising on the internet. This allows them enough backing to give better deals than their competition. Those who are interested in saving through these types of deals and through couponing do reap greatly from these arrangements.
These are three of the top daily deal sites in terms of number of visits per day.

Groupon
Currently, the top site with nearly a million visitors every day, is Groupon. It accounts for about 40% of the traffic to daily deal sites and has grown at a phenomenal rate since its inception. Merchants, in order to post on Groupon, must offer deals which are at least half of the actual price. There have been reports, however, of some merchants not honouring coupons obtained at the site. Groupon posted a promise on their site that they will refund a purchase if the customer if dissatisfied in any way. They also have deals not just in the United States but in 39 other countries as well.

LivingSocial
Their closest competitor is LivingSocial. They have recently been acquired by the social networking giant Facebook. Their growth is nearly on a par with Groupon and they account for more than a quarter of the traffic to Daily Deal websites. Their average deal price is lower than that of the majority of their competitors plus they have excellent freebies. Unfortunately, there have been a significant number of complaints regarding their customer service. They also offer deals for four other countries, namely: Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

Woot
Woot is considered the oldest online coupon site. They and their subsidiary specialty coupon sites (e.g. wine.woot) are part of Amazon.com. Nearly half a million people go to this website every day. Technology products are cheaper at this site compared to the others but many of these are refurbished items. The flat rate for their shipping cost is something many find very attractive. They do not offer refunds, though. Plus, they only offer one deal a day. Fortunately, one may still avail of previous deals.

Other Sites
There are many other such sites that offer similar services as these three. Here are some of them that you might want to check out: Eversave, Tippr, BuyWithMe, GiltCity, Kgb Deals, Thrillist, Yipit, Jasmere, AtCost, Newegg, Deal Map, Deal On, HomeRUn, and many more. Some of these sites ask you to provide personal information before you may avail of their deals. If you do not like to give away such information, discontinue registration.
